Splendida’s crew spreading encouragement through art
May 4, 2020

As we know all MSC ships suspended cruise operations almost two months ago, in light of the extraordinary circumstances the world is currently facing in connection with the COVID-19 virus MSC has recently decided to further extend the halting of all its new cruise departures fleet-wide through to 10 July 2020.

Meanwhile all ships are laid-up around the World, as we can see here with our interactive map. One of them, MSC Splendida, is currently moored in Genoa, Italy with a number of crew members vital to keep the ship in good shape.

The Master in charge, Lauro Maresca, asked to his crew to do a drawing to express their current state of mind. “The result has been wonderful“, as the Captain said. In their creations Splendida’s crew members spread encouragement, messages of hope, thoughts about the present situation as well as the future. Look at the gallery below to see all drawings.
