MSC unveils 2020-2021 winter season

MSC unveils the 2020-2021 winter season, which will see the presence of 3 ships located in Mediterranean Sea, 6 in the Caribbean and North America area, one in South Africa, 4 in South America and 2 in the Emirates. Between the new entries, MSC Seaview’s cruises from Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the maiden season of MSC Virtuosa in the Mediterranean Sea.

The winter season is part of 2020-2021 new MSC brochure, presented yesterday in Milan, Italy (summer season deployment is available here). Following latest years tradition, the cruise line has introduced the new catalog in an innovative way, calling it Personal Brochure. It will be available on MSC 360VR app for Android and iOS mobile devices and will be totally customizable, giving you the chance to discover cruise’s itinerary as well as visit ships and destinations with immersive reality. The system will remember your preferences in order to create your personal brochure, like Dave’s brochure, with only sections that suit you.


The new flagship MSC Virtuosa will homeport in Genoa offering 7-nights cruises calling in Civitavecchia (Italy), Messina (Italy), Valletta (Malta), Barcelona (Spain) and Marseille (France). MSC Poesia and MSC Magnifica will offer long Mediterranean cruises from Genoa to Canary Island and Greece. In particular MSC Magnifica will spend her winter cruising 11-nights cruises calling in Barcelona (Spain), Funchal (Portugal) with overnight and fireworks celebration in New Year’s Eve cruise, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain), Casablanca (Morocco), Malaga (Spain) and Civitavecchia (Italy) or, on the other side of Mediterranean Sea, touching Katakolon, Athens, Rhodes (Greece), Haida (Israel), Heraklion (Crete) and Civitavecchia (Italy). MSC Poesia, until her departure for 2021 World Cruise, will offer similar long cruises by replacing Katakolon with Corfu (Greece) and Haifa with Valletta (Malta). In addition Poesia will offer 10-nights cruises from Genoa to Marseille (France), Barcelona, (Spain), Gibraltar (UK), Lisboa (Portugal), Cadiz, Malaga (Spain) and Civitavecchia (Italy).

For the second consecutive year MSC Meraviglia will homeport in New York for three cruises. During the first will call in Sydney, Corner Brook, Charlottetown and Quebec City (Canada); during the second will call in Bar Harbor (USA), St. John, Halifax, Sydney (Canada), Portland and Boston (USA); the third cruise will lead Meraviglia to Miami, second winter homeport, calling in Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Fort-de-France (Martinica), St. George (Grenada), Willemstad (Curacao), Oranjestad (Aruba) and will be the first MSC cruise ship to dock in the brand-new Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas). MSC Splendida will navigate through Antilles homeporting in Fort-de-France and offering two kind of itineraries. the first will call in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadalupe), Castries (St. Lucia), Bridgetown (Barbados), Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), St. George (Grenada) and Kingstown (St. Vincent and Grenadine); the second will call in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadalupe), Road Town (Tortola), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Roseau (Dominica), Basseterre (St. Kitts and Nevis) and St. John (Antigua and Barbuda).

MSC Armonia and MSC Meraviglia will offer similar weekly cruises from Miami (USA), the second ship adding a stop in Belize City (Belize). Meraviglia will also call in a new destination for MSC Cruises, Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) during a 5-nights cruise from Miami. MSC Opera will depart from Havana (Cuba). Itineraries are shown in following pictures.

MSC Divina will offer long caribbean cruises from Miami calling in Ocho Rios (Jamaica), Cartagena (Colombia), Colon (Panama), Puerto Limon (Costa Rica), Costa Maya (Mexico) and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (Bahamas). MSC Seaside will offer two weekly itineraries which are shown in the following picture (first on the left).

MSC Seaview will homeport in the city hosting the 2020 Universal Exposition, Dubai and Abu Dhabi calling Sir Bani Yas (UAE), Doha (Qatar) and Bahrain. MSC Lirica will offer cruises from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Sir Bani Yas (UAE) and Muscat (Oman).

South America deployment will be announced soon but probably will see the presence of MSC Fantasia, MSC Musica, MSC Preziosa and MSC Sinfonia

MSC Orchestra will homeport in Cape Town (South Africa).
